Therabill allows you to submit electronic claims to thousands of insurance companies. Therabill is all you need. You do not need to create any accounts at any clearinghouse. Therabill will create the 837 Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) files for you and route them through the clearinghouses for you. For the most part, you will not even realize the clearinghouse is there. All Therabill subscription pricing plans come with unlimited electronic claims submission. Unlike other electronic insurance billing software, Therabill does NOT have any 'per claim' fees.Submitting insurance claims electronically means your claims will have less errors. Less errors means fewer denials and quicker payment times.
Submitting claims electronically means fewer errors
When you submit an insurance claim electronically, the claim goes through multiple levels of error checks. These error checks ensure that the information you have included on the claim is valid. Therabill will perform an inital error check looking for blatantly erroneous information or missing information. By checking the claim for errors within Therabill, a lot of errors will get caught before the claim is even submitted. This will save you valuable time. Therabill then routes the claim to a clearinghouse. The clearinghouse will then perform more error checks. If the clearinghouse detects an error, you will receive a message within Therabill letting you know what the error was and how it can be fixed and resubmitted. An error from the clearinghouse normally comes back within 24-48 hours. If the claim passes the clearinghouse error checks, then the clearinghouse forwards the claim to the insurance company. Before sending the claim into their adjudication system, the insurance company will also perform some error checks. If the insurance company detects an error, you will receive an error message within Therabill with instructions on fixing and resubmitting the claim.Fewer claim errors means faster turn around
If their is an error on a claim that was submitted electronically, the error is caught within the first 24-48 hours and the claim is not entered into the insurance companies adjudication system. This means that you can quickly fix and resubmit the claim within a couple of days. Compare this to the paper claim submission method where the only error checks are done after the claim goes into the insurance companies adjudication system. It will often take 4-8 weeks for you to get the initial error message back in an Explanation of Benefits or Payer Claim Summary. You must then submit the claim again, going through the same process, often multiple times.Electronic insurance claims are processed faster

Insurance companies process claims that were submitted to them electronically much faster than paper claims that they receive through the mail. Often the technical requirements can be so intensive for networking that you will need to hire an IT specialist to install your software. Not with Therabill. By modern web browser, we mean any web browser that was realeased within the past 8 years. If you bought your computer within the past 8 years, then you most likely meet this requirement.
